NORMANVILLE and YANKALILLA
These two little towns offer all that is required for a visit to this part of the Fleurieu Peninsula: a choice of cafes, bars, restaurants, an award – winnning bakery and a pub in each. There are second-hand shops, small boutiques and a supermarket in each, also banking facilities and a post-office. Normanville offers a beautiful, easily accessible and safe swimming beach. Nearby is Carrickalinga Beach, with rock pools providing an opportunity to view sea-life close up.
VICTOR HARBOR
On the other side of the Fleurieu Peninsula is Victor Harbor. A popular destination for day-trippers from Adelaide this lovely sea-side town has a number of attractions. You could walk or catch the horse-drawn tram across to Granite Island, meander around the island enjoying its beautiful coastal views; at certain times of the year you will be able to engage in some whale-spotting. Then, visit the South Australian Whale Centre and Discovery Centre. A variety of activities, from walking to snorkelling can be undertaken, as well as wild-life spotting or lunching in one of the many eateries.
