Booking Terms

Deposit

 

A non-refundable deposit of $250 is payable within 14 days of receiving the deposit invoice. Please note a booking is not confirmed until payment is made and may be cancelled if the deposit is not paid in full on time.

The estimated number of persons attending the camp is to be advised with the online Booking Application..

Payment of deposit denotes acceptance of booking terms.

Where a cancellation is requested, Dzintari may at it’s discretion apply the deposit already made towards the new booking.

Check in and Check out times

 

Normal check in time is 2pm. Earlier is arrival is possible depending on whether there is a camp departing, however earlier access to dorm rooms cannot be guaranteed due to cleaning requirements. Luggage can be temporarily stored in the upper activities hall if required.

 

Normal check out time is 11am. This is to allow time to clean in between camps. A later check-out time may be possible, however cannot be guaranteed until 4 weeks out. Should you wish to guarantee a later checkout, an additional day rate will be charged per person for the checkout day, subject to availability.

 

Where possible, we will try to accommodate timing requests. Please work with our caretakers to coordinate arrival and departure times and arrangements.

Minimum numbers per room

Our dormitories can fit between 6-10 persons in double bunks. The minimum number of persons per room is 3 for the smaller rooms and 4 for the larger rooms (ie all bottom bunks filled). This is so that we can keep cleaning requirements in line with camp sizes (and keep costs low for you). However extra rooms can be opened at an additional charge of $100 per room per camp. Please advise our caretakers prior to commencing the camp if you wish extra rooms.

 

 

Liability for Additional Charges

Additional Services or Works

Where the campers fail or refuse to:

  • return the campsite to the condition it was in at the start of a camp or return equipment to its original place
  • properly carry out all required cleaning tasks

the rectification/cleaning will be carried out by the Society at the camper’s cost, at the rate per cleaner of $100.00 per hour, charged in 15 minute blocks or part thereof, with a minimum charge of 3 hours.

Damages to Premises

Where damage is caused to the premises during a camp the person making the booking shall be responsible for the cost of repair or reinstatement, on a full indemnity basis. In addition, the charge for Additional Services or Works may apply (on the basis set out above), if the Society or its contractors are required to spend time arranging for the repair or rectification works to be carried out.

Fire Alarm Call-Out Fees

Any false alarm through carelessness or fault of a camper will give rise to a call out fee from the relevant fire authority. The camper must pay the charges incurred, which is in excess of $600.

Note, the use of aerosol sprays (hair-spray or deodorant sprays) in rooms may trip the fire alarm system, resulting in a call-out.

 

Additional Notes

The above fees and charges apply for use of the Dzintari campsite for camps and similar. Different prices and conditions apply for special events and functions.

The Society has effected and maintains public liability insurance. If an increased amount of cover is for required for a particular camp, then the amount of the increased premium is payable by the client, together with any other incidental charges necessarily incurred with the insurer or broker.

The Board reserves the right to change any hire fee or other charge, in its discretion, subject to the proviso that fees and charges for confirmed bookings within the current financial year will remain as set out in the Fees and Charges Schedule issued with the Booking Application Form.
